Windsor, Ontario. <br />Septe,ber 1st, 1949. <br />Roads Committee met at call of the Chairman. <br />All members present - Mr.. Cecile, Chairman presiding. <br />Minutes of previous meeting were read and it was moved <br />by Mr. McCormick, seconded by Mr. Noble that minutes be adopted. <br />Carried. <br />Tenders for sale of Adams 301 Motor. Grader as per Ad. in Daily <br />Commercial. News of August 29th were considered as follows:.. <br />Town of LaSalle $700.00 0 - Township of Sandwich South $800.00. <br />Moved by Mr. Noble, seconded by Mr. McCormick that the tender of <br />the Township of Sandwich South of $800.00 for Adams model 301 Motor <br />Grader be accepted, subject to the approval of Department of Highways, <br />Ontario. Carried. <br />The Roads Superintendent submitted report of expenditure to date; <br />comm.ittments and estimates of costs of works included in this years <br />programme, and advised that we would have to proceed carefully if we <br />were to keep within our approved appropriations. <br />The matter of proceeding with further base preparation work was <br />discussed and it was moved by Mr. Lefaive, seconded by Mr. Noble that <br />the Road Superintendent apply materials for stabilization at rate of <br />2000 tons per mile on Tecumseh Road - Rochester from River Ruscom, east- <br />erly about one and half (1f) miles to Canadian National Railways. <br />Carried. <br />The County Clerk reported receiving copy of,letter.from the <br />Canadian National Railway to Board of Transport with plans, estimates <br />etc., for installation of flashing signals and bill at Canadian National <br />Crossing on Road No. 12 at Stoney Point. <br />Moved by Mr. McAlurren, seconded by Mr. Lefaive that meeting <br />adjourn.
